Since the last time I posted about Golden Week, plans have changed a bit. Instead of coming Friday, Takashi is getting into town today (Wednesday) and will be staying until Sunday. I'm kind of surprised that he's staying in Kochi so long, but I'm quite happy about it. He's coming by motorcycle and we have plans to go out riding tomorrow and Saturday. I went and got myself a helmet today. Kind of a random thing to be buying since I own neither a motorcycle nor a scooter, but it wasn't too expensive, and I think it'll be well worth it.
The other change of plans is that Takashi will be staying at my apartment while he's here. It's kind of a long time to have a guest who I don't know all that well, but I think it'll be fine. I'm not worried at all about safety; I think my biggest concern has been whether we'll run out of things to talk about. But if I turn up in a shallow grave in the woods, you know who to look for. Just kidding, just kidding! Takashi is very trustworthy. If I had any misgivings at all I wouldn't be letting him stay here. And I've laid out some very clear boundaries so that he wouldn't come here with the wrong expectations. I think things are pretty well squared away. Now it's just a matter of finding entertaining things to do while he's here.
So, I imagine I'll be fairly busy for the next couple of days, but maybe Sunday or at the start of next week I'll post another update to let you know how everything went. I'm looking forward to my weekend. In the end, I'm quite happy I didn't go anywhere for Golden Week. There's been plenty going on right here.
