Matsuyama Day Trip

Tuesday was a national holiday (Vernal Equinox Day), so Julie and I went on a day trip to Matsuyama. It's about a 2 hour drive from where she lives, so I took the train up after work on Monday and stayed with her for the night, then we set out on Tuesday morning.

The main target was a large shopping mall that has several stores we like. One of them is a shop with lolita-esque clothes. They're pretty and sort of Victorian looking, but still wearable. Unfortunately, their spring collection wasn't too inspiring, so neither of us found anything there. Both of us were interested in finding something cute for spring. After exploring very nearly all of the stores in the mall, we both found some things we liked. I got a skirt, a couple of shirts, a pair of black shoes, and some sheer tights with pastel confetti dots on them. For once I actually managed to buy a complete outfit, rather than buying several articles of clothing that go with none of the other things I own. The new skirt is almost certainly the shortest skirt I own, but fortunately it has built-in shorts for the sake of not flashing people. I'm quite pleased with my new outfit; I think it would be perfect for going on a date.

In a (hopefully) related subject, S-sensei (math teacher) gave me a call on Tuesday afternoon. I had asked him to send me a text message when he found out what school he'd be at next semester, but he actually called me instead. It was a nice surprise, though talking on the phone can be a bit nerve-wracking. It turns out that he won't be at TJHS for the next year; he's being moved to a larger school elsewhere in Kochi City. I'm a little sad because I know he cares a lot about the students at TJHS, and it also means I won't necessarily be seeing him on a regular basis. But I'm also a bit hopeful because there's no longer any obstacle to hanging out or going on dates, assuming he's interested. Since we're not at the same school anymore, there's really no reason for anyone to object to it, and no need for secrecy. I'm thinking maybe I'll try inviting him to do something during spring break, since he might have more free time around then. We'll see how that goes.
