This morning, I flew back to Kochi from Osaka. Everything went pretty smoothly, and I ran into Matt (another ALT) at the airport. He recently moved into the apartment building I live in, so we took the bus back into town together. It was good to have someone to talk to.
This weekend there's a lot of stuff going on; a lot of the ALTs will be going to Shimanto City tonight for a big fireworks show. There will likely be partying afterward, and a river float the next day. It's too bad that I'll miss out on all the fun, but I doubt I've got the energy for a full weekend of partying, so I'm staying home. That being said, I actually feel pretty good. The trip back wasn't as exhausting as I expected. So I might take the train to another town tomorrow for a birthday dinner. We'll see.
I'm planning to meet up with Tatsuya and Julie sometime during the week, but other than that I don't have a lot of plans for the immediate future. This week I'll be in the office, so I should get to meet the new ALTs. I'll be curious to see how much they've settled in; they've been here since the beginning of August, so it could be that they're getting reasonably familiar with the city and the other ALTs. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to meeting them.
Welcome Back! We are glad you made it back safe. We all miss you already but we know you are going to have another great year. Remember to share all the fun you are having! Love you and miss you tons! Christina and the Gang
