Fun With Correcting Assignments

For a recent class at YJHS (my larger junior high), I was asked to make an activity related to my summer vacation. I opted to draw some stick figure illustrations of things I did, leaving the speech bubbles blank for the students to fill in themselves. I figured that even if the students weren't all that interested in what I did, they might enjoy putting words in my mouth. And at the very least, they could laugh at my terrible drawings.

Most of the students wrote basically the same things for each picture, but there were a few surprises. This one is almost certainly my favorite. It's a drawing of me on the Shinkansen (bullet train). Nearly all of the students wrote something along the lines of, "It's fast!", but this student came up with... "I get drunk."

Maybe these kids know me too well.

  1. No way! You're to cheap to pay for all you can drink on the Shinkansen! lol!

  2. Hilarious. Clearly you have been teaching them the most important English words!
